William Taylor

Bio

Will attained his MSci in Geology at University College London before going on to complete a MSc in Petroleum Geoscience at Imperial College London. During this period, he gained valuable industry experience from a summer internship with Equinor UK as part of their North Sea exploration team. The internship involved characterisation of the sediment routing system for recent oil discovery in the Outer Moray Firth, with an aim to understand the interplay between structural evolution and sedimentary clastic systems within the basin.

Will began his PhD in January 2020 with the Stratigraphy group at the University of Leeds. His project is focussed on modelling the sedimentology and stratigraphy of submarine channel margin systems across a range of deep marine slope environments. His key interests are deep-marine sedimentology and structural geology, specifically the controls that dictate the geometry and architecture of submarine bedforms.
