Dr. Miquel Poyatos More

Bio

I completed my PhD at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain) in 2014, which focused on depositional processes and controlling factors of sediment dispersal from river-mouth to base-of-slope settings, with the study of sedimentary facies and sequence stratigraphy of the transition from shelf to slope of the Castissent depositional sequences (Ainsa Basin, South-Central Pyrenees, Spain). After this, I spent 4 years as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Manchester (UK), as part of the SLOPE Project, Phase 4. Since 2017, I am based as a Researcher at the University of Oslo (Norway).

My research is essentially focused on sedimentary geology and basin analysis, but I have interest in a wide range of research topics, from the study of outcrop analogues for characterization of shallow and deep marine sedimentary reservoirs, to multi-disciplinary projects which aim to understand the preservation and propagation of environmental signals in the stratigraphic record.
