Profile CD, Torside Clough to Sykes Moor
- The peat is more dissected than on profile AB.
- Peat exposures are flat, like the 'Y-lobe', but are smaller and occur at a lower altitude (450-500m).
- Mineral soil is mainly found at the downslope end of peat exposures, as well as in gullies.
- The peat exposures are surrounded by heather.
- Bilberry and crowberry occur above the heather.
- Cotton grass grows on the poorly drained blanket peat on the highest parts of the plateau.
