He argued the importance of wind erosion on summits and 'patches' of erosion as shown on the right of the diagram
Be aware that the early work by Bower and Radley inferred processes of peat erosion by observing the form (i.e. shape and position etc.) of the peat landscape, and not by studying the direct processes that created them.
Recent work in the last 2-3 years has demonstrated that peat erosion in the Dark Peak is the result of both processes.
