Alluvium: Fine material deposited on fluvial planes by over-bank river flow.

Head: Periglacial material formed when the top of the permafrost melted in summer and slumped downslope over the perennially frozen permafrost below. Is usually is poorly sorted, irregular, frost-shattered material in a clayey matrix.
