  Lesson 11 - Frames

WHEN YOU GET TO LESSON 11 YOU NEED TO INCLUDE A PAGE ABOUT DOING LINKS VIA THE LINK TAG

Summary

Frames split the browser window into two or more parts, and open up new possibilities for two or more texts to interact on screen. Unfortunately most web sites use them only for navigation, which can be effective but is also rather limiting. <IFRAME> tags and layers take these ideas still further but are browser-specific. All these techniques are problematic therefore but if used well can be very effective and are therefore an essential part of the armoury of any serious web designer.
