advanced navigation and layout techniquesCLICK HERE TO START VIRTUAL LECTURE TEN This lecture covers several topics, connected through the fact that they all give more depth to a web site's use of the screen. Two or more different texts, or web sites, can be made to interact on the screen through the use of either multiple windows, frames or inline frames. Menu bars and site maps can also make it easier for users to navigate through complex sites: this lesson will show you several new ideas here. All of these techniques must be questioned in terms of accessibility, but they do open up creative uses of the page, if used with full consideration for all users. online materials
Remember you can see a printer-friendly (text-only) version of this lecture if you want to print it off. There is no self-test for this lecture but before moving on you should be able to code a simple frameset document, know how to use the <iframe> tag and be able to use links with frames (both types). When you're satisfied with your understanding, move on to the site conclusion. |
