I am a mathematician and computer scientist, interested in semigroup theory and its interactions with fields such as tropical algebra/geometry, geometric group theory, functional analysis and theoretical computer science.

I am currently Chair of the UKRI/EPSRC Strategic Advisory Team (SAT) in Mathematical Sciences, in which capacity I'm always happy to hear views and concerns from the community, so please feel free to get in touch.

When I'm not doing maths, I'm a father (of three), husband, cyclist, rambler, fellwalker, pedestrian, footpath inspector, school governor, consumer, commuter, genealogist, and crossword enthusiast.
