Nacho completed his undergraduate studies in Spain at the University of Valladolid in 2014. He completed his MSc under the supervision of Professor Ana Carmen Albeniz Jimenez at the University of Valladolid in 2015 focusing on the development of new polymer skeletons. After this, he started his PhD, also under the supervision of Professor Ana Carmen Albeniz Jimenez, focusing his research in two different areas: catalysis and polymer chemistry. He then made a short stay with Professor Nilay Hazary at the University of Yale, developing new Ni(0) carbene complexes. His current Postdoctoral position in the Larrosa Group at the University of Manchester focuses on asymmetric C-H activation with Ru(II) complexes. Outside the lab, he spends a lot of his time at the gym, playing video games and drinking with friends. He also likes to play football.
