IEEE CIS Task Force on OMBB

  • I have been promoted to Senior Lecturer.
  • Together with Tinkle Chugh and Jussi Hakanen, I am organizing a Workshop on Evolutionary Computation + Multiple Criteria Decision Making (EC + MCDM) at the Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference 2019 (GECCO 2019).
  • Together with Tinkle Chugh and Jussi Hakanen, I am organizing a Special Session on Data Science meets Multiple Criteria Decision Making at the 25th International Conference on Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM 2019).
  • Together with Joseph Brown, Gonzalo Ruz, and Dan Ashlock, I am organizing a Special Session on Optimization, Learning, and Decision-Making in Bioinformatics and Bioengineering at the 2019 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC 2019).
  • I have been appointed as the Business Engagement Lead of Alliance MBS. If you are a business and want to work with AMBS, then get in touch with me.
  • Together with Dan Ashlock (University of Guelph, Canada) and Sansanee Auephanwiriyakul (Chiang Mai University, Thailand), I am organizing a Special Issue on Computational Intelligence Techniques in Bioinformatics and Bioengineering in the IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine.
  • Together with Jussi Hakanen, Dmitry Podkopaev, and Karthik Sindhya, I am organizing a Special Session on Data-Driven Multiple Criteria Decision Making at MCDM 2017.
  • Thanks to the EMO/MCDM Dagstuhl seminar series, together with colleagues I have published two papers in the Journal of MCDA (see list of publications).
  • I will be the General Chair of the IEEE International Conference on Computational Intelligence in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (CIBCB 2017) to be hosted in Manchester, UK.
  • I have joined the Manchester Business School as a Lecturer.
  • I have become the Chair of the very active and exciting IEEE CIS Task Force on Optimization Methods in Bioinformatics and Bioengineering.
  • Our Task Force is organizing a Special Session on Optimization, Learning, and Decision-Making in Bioinformatics and Bioengineering at CEC 2016 in beautiful Vancouver, Canada. If your research is in this area, interesting and novel, then please consider submitting a paper to our session.
  • Our work on closed-loop optimization of chromatographic operating conditions and multiobjective protein purification process design has been accepted at PPSN XIII.
  • Joshua Knowles and I published a book chapter on Ephemeral Resource Constraints in Optimization in R. Datta and K. Deb (Eds.) Evolutionary Constrained Optimization.
  • Our Task Force, TF-OMBB, is organizing a Special Session on (Multiobjective) Optimization Methods in Bioinformatics and Bioengineering (OMBB) at IEEE SSCI 2014. CALL FOR PAPERS
  • Jürgen Branke (University of Warwick), Suzanne Farid (UCL) and I have been granted an EPSRC-CDT funded PhD studentship focusing on Integrated Capacity Planning and Portfolio Management Tools for Biopharmaceutical Production. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in doing a PhD with us.
  • I have become the Vice-Chair of the new and exciting IEEE CIS Task Force on Optimization Methods in Bioinformatics and Bioengineering.
