PhD Studentships

Two EPSRC funded PhD studentships are available to work on adsorption and characterisation of microporous polymers.

A number of studentships for European citizen are available from the School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Sciences. For outstanding overseas students, the University of Manchester can grant a ORS studentship to cover additional expenses.

If you are interested in any of the following topics and would like to pursue a PhD at the University of Manchester, send me a message at Flor.Siperstein@manchester.ac.uk containing your CV and the specifics of the topic you are interested in. Please, indicate clearly your undergraduate degree and any relevant experience.

1. Modelling the formation of porous materials.

2. Challenges in gas separation using adsorption: can we improve process performance by carefully desigining the adsorbent?

3. Modelling properties of porous polymers: effective methods for exploring possible applications in a new type of adsorbent.

4. Understanding the role of additives in surfactant self-assembly using multiscale modelling

5. Behaviour of surfactant self-assemblies under shear: relating virtual and real experiments

Postdoctoral positions

We expect to have postdoctoral positions avaialble in the near future. Look at our research intersts to see the work we are doing.
