My name is Zenas Yiu. I am a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Dermatology and Pharmacoepidemiology based at the University of Manchester, UK, and an Honorary Consultant Dermatologist at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. 

I qualified in medicine from the University of Manchester, and was subsequently accepted into clinical-academic training in dermatology at the North Western Deanery, UK. In 2015, I was awarded a NIHR Doctoral Research Fellowship to pursue my doctorate degree investigating the risk of serious infection in patients with psoriasis on biologic therapies at the University of Manchester. I was awarded the Royal Society of Medicine Dermatology Trainee Research Prize in 2018, and the Royal College of Physicians Turner-Warwick Lectureship for the North West region in 2019 for my doctorate research. I hold a Master's degree in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. My research interests lie in pharmacoepidemiology and evidence-based dermatology, and I take a particular interest in the evaluation of the safety and effectiveness of novel therapeutics for chronic inflammatory skin conditions, and guideline methodology in dermatology. I work in regional tertiary clinics looking after patients with psoriasis and hidradenitis suppurativa. 

I am an associate editor for the evidence-based dermatology section in the British Journal of Dermatology (BJD) and an editor for Cochrane Skin. I sit on the steering committee for three British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) research projects on psoriasis (BADBIR), alopecia areata (GRASS-UK), and keratinocyte cancer (UKKCC); and on the BAD research subcommittee. I am also a member of the Technology Appraisal Committee D for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence to evaluate health technologies. 

I am a group leader and primary supervisor to two current PhD students funded by the Psoriasis Association, and have two more positions open for interview and application. I also supervise a research team with medical students, academic clinical fellows, clinical research fellows, research associates.
