2002 fieldwork on M/V Strathdoon

The following photos show our second installation of the equipment. The SeaBat 8101 system was installed on a local tug boat Strathdoon. This configuration was used to carry out surveys of tidal sand banks around the south Gower and South Glamorgan coastlines, with some spectacular results. These data contributed to the PhD thesis of Thierry Schmitt.

We would like to express our thanks to Port Talbot Diving and Marine Services Ltd for their assistance with installing the equipment on M/V Strathdoon and for their professional seamanship at sea which ensured that some high-quality data were collected in our second field season.
