Iterated function systems and their invariant measures
Dr. Anders Öberg, Dept. of Mathematics, UMIST
The first 30 min of this talk will be an introduction to
the theory of iterated function systems and invariant measures. These
measures can be regarded as eigen-measures
of the adjoint operator to the dynamical transfer operator.
In the last part of the
talk we will discuss different approaches of approximating invariant
measures. Two important algorithms will be discussed, both
involving perturbation techniques of the transfer (or
Ruelle--Perron--Frobenius) operator.
