# Finite Element Methods:

The geometrical flexibility of Finite Element Methods makes them
ideally suited for the efficient computational solution of
fluid-structure interaction problems. The figure below shows an
example of the two Finite Element meshes used to solve the
problem of Stokes flow in an elastic tube.

The fluid mesh consists of approximately 1200 brick shaped Taylor-Hood
elements. The tube wall was discretised with 44 quadrilateral Hermite
elements.

The fluid mesh is generated by an automatic mesh generator which
adjusts the nodal positions in response to the wall deformation.
