This intensive course is aimed at research students in Computer Vision and Digital Image Computing, including topics such as Image Processing and Pattern Recognition. It is organised under the auspices of the British Machine Vision Association and Society for Pattern Recognition (BMVA), hosted by the Imaging Science and Biomedical Engineering research group (ISBE) at the University of Manchester.
The course is residential, spanning five days (mid-day Monday to mid-day Friday), and consists of lectures and practicals in diverse topics in Digital Image Computing (View: Programme). It is intended that the course will complement and extend the material in existing technical courses that many students will encounter in their first year of postgraduate training. It will provide an opportunity to broaden awareness of knowledge and techniques in Vision, Image Computing and Pattern Recognition, and to develop appropriate research skills.
The course has run successfully since the mid-1990’s, evolving to maintain consistency with the state of the art.
