The aim of this final lecture (yes folks... it's the last one) is to describe some methods for enhancing the navigation on your site. Mainly these involve presenting more than one file on screen at once, so that users can switch between them and even get links in one window (or part of a window) to change the contents of another window (or part of a window).

Today we will cover:

  • how to get links to open new windows on the screen
  • how to use frames to divide a window into two or more parts, each of which can update independently from the rest
  • a similar technique called inline frames, which opens a new window "inside" the original window and which, again, can update independently from the rest
  • and in conclusion, how to exploit some form elements to vary the appearance and arrangement of links and menus.
