Applying for PhD Positions

In any given year ISBE is likely to have funding for a small number of PhD studentships to start in mid-September.
For details of those currently on offer, see here (note, unfortunately this isn't always kept up to date).
Note that we usually advertise all PhD opportunities through www.jobs.ac.uk and the imageworld mailing list - so check there too.

Note that usually funded projects are only available for British or EU students who have been resident in the UK.
However, we are able to accept students of high quality who can fund themselves.
Fees are about £3,900-18,100 per year (UK/EU),£16,500-29,700 per year (non-EU) and you would need about £14,000 per year to cover general living expenses in Manchester. A PhD usually takes at least 3 years to complete (and now must be completed within 4 years).
For an MD, fees are in the range £1,660-13,990 (UK/EU students) or £6450-18620 (International students).
