It’s not about the technology

As an eLearning Technologist, my focus is not on technology for its own sake but on how it can enhance teaching and learning. Technology is a tool that, when thoughtfully applied, supports effective pedagogy in online education. My role involves working in partnership with academics and university schools to design and build online courses that are pedagogically sound and engaging for learners.
I have worked in education since 1990 and have specialised in technology-enhanced learning since 2003. In 2011, I joined The University of Manchester within the Faculty of Science and Engineering’s eLearning Team, later moving to what is now Transnational Education in 2018.
This website highlights various eLearning projects and research I have undertaken as an eLearning Technologist at The University of Manchester, as well as work from my PhD at Lancaster University.
