School of Mathematics, University
of Manchester
I am a Professor in Applied
Mathematics within the School of Mathematics at
the University of
Manchester. I am member of the
Numerical
Analysis Group, the Inverse
Problems Group and the Uncertainty
Quantification and Data Science Group.
Research Interests
My interests lie in the interface
between applied probability, statistics and
numerical analysis. I am particularly interested in the development of
numerical algorithms which allow us to simulate and analyse
complex stochastic systems, ranging from Markov chain Monte
Carlo (MCMC) methods for Bayesian inverse problems, to
multiscale methods for stochastic biochemical reaction
networks. I am also interested more generally in stochastic models
in and inverse problems in Biology and other applications,
including finance.
I am always looking for high quality PhD students with
interests in similar areas, so please feel free to email if you
are considering applying.
