Hi, I'm Nick Kyparissas
PhD Student in Computer Science
I am a 4th-year PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Manchester, UK. My research interests lie in the areas of reconfigurable computing and special-purpose computer architectures, with my PhD research focusing on the near-data acceleration of data filtering for machine learning.
I have also been fascinated by the theory of computation, unconventional computing and cellular automata. I hold a Diploma (MEng) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Crete, GR, where I worked with Prof. Apostolos Dollas on accelerating cellular automata with FPGAs.
I spent the summer of 2022 at Arm, Cambridge, working on gem5 with some amazing people.
