Travel Information to the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology

 

The Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB) is located in the John Garside Building on the Sackville Street campus of The University of Manchester. It can be access from both Sackville Street and Princess Street.

By Rail

The MIB is within approximately 10 minutes’ walk of the main city railway station, Manchester Piccadilly. Upon arrival at Piccadilly Station, follow the signs to the taxi rank (NOT the main entrance), which will take you downstairs to a side exit. This exit is on the corner of Fairfield Street and London Road. You may then follow the map below to the MIB.

 

By Car

The MIB is located on Princess Street (A34), which is accessible from the M60 and M56. Parking: Limited on-street parking is available on Sackville Street and Princess Street. There are public car parks on Charles Street (marked in the blue “P” in the map below). Parking charges apply in all cases.

 

Hotels

The nearest hotels to the MIB are the Macdonald Manchester Hotel (4 star), the Pendulum Hotel (3 star) and the Ibis Hotel Manchester Princess Street (3 star). These are marked in the map below. There are many hotels in Manchester City Centre, which is 10-15 min walk to the North of the MIB.
