- Bone remodelling occurs throughout life
- Remodelling and resorption is in balance
- Peak bone mass: age 30
- After: bone resorption outpaces remodelling
- If bone is subjected to weight bearing stress it will remodel into stronger bone
- If bone is not weight bearing it will decalcify and become weaker
