Factors affecting repair process
Different tissues have a different capacity for self repair
Tissues that repair well:
- Epithelium
- Epidermis
- Mucous membranes
- Bone and most connective tissue
Repair less well:
- Smooth muscle
- Dense connective tissue
Tend not to repair and replaced by scar tissue:
- Cardiac muscle
- Nervous tissue in brain and spinal cord
