The Dose Response
All chemicals are toxic so what judgements determine their use?
- Dose response relationship exists when changes in dose produce consistent non-random changes in effect, either in
- the magnitude of the effect
- Percent of individuals responding at a particular level of effect
E.g.
- No. of animals dying increases as dose of strychnine increases
- No. of patients recovering from an infection increases as the dose increases
