Introduction
Our research is concerned with mechanically responsive connective tissues such as bone, muscle, cartilage and the intervertebral disc, novel 3-D scaffolds and directed cell responses using defined surfaces. We have been funded by EPSRC, BBSRC, MRC, UKRMP, DTI, i4i, Leverhulme Trust, Royal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering, Johnson and Johnson, Smith and Nephew, Magnesium Elektron, Glycomar and the medical charity BackCare.
