lecture 2: self-test

return to lesson 2 index

practical skills - lecture 2

By the end of lecture 2 you should:

  • have created a simple style sheet (*.css file) and saved it in your www folder alongside your first web page
  • have used this sheet to define properties for at least your <body> and <p> tags, and preferably one or two other tags as well
  • have started to use at least three or four different tags to format the text of your web page: including headings and lists
  • be able to change the colour of the text and background of your page (and to know what makes for good and bad combinations of these).

If you are unsure about any of these things, practise until you are. Remember you can ask an ACOM demonstrator for help: that is what they are there for.

Also, you should really have started thinking about what your course work web site is going to be about, and why such a site would be useful online. Remember that though there is no pre-reading for lecture 3 you are expected to come to it with some notes about these things.

SORRY: automatic self-tests not currently online
