Welcome to Math 41021/61021 Measure Theory and Ergodic Theory. This unit introduces Lebesgue measure on the real line, the abstract theory of measures, and the dynamics of measure-preserving transformations.
The unit is organized by week. Each week you will be expected to engage with the unit in the following ways.
There will be two lectures and one tutorial each week.
0900 - 1000
Crawford House Seminar Room A
1000 - 1100
Roscoe 1.003
1300 - 1400
Zochonis Theater C
The notes cover everything that is in the unit. The following texts are suitable as an additional resource on our material and provide further reading.
The Elements of Integration and Lebesgue Measure
Robert G. Bartle Wiley
Real analysis: modern techniques and their applications
Gerald B. Folland Wiley
