I am a Lecturer in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)
at the Manchester Business School
of the University of Manchester,
U.K. The main emphasis of my research is on understanding the 'praxis'
of work, personal and social spheres of human activity and on designing
and evaluating information and communication technologies to enhance those
practices. Based on theories, concepts, and methods from psychology and
sociology, my research looks at the usage of technologies as a situated
practice as it happens at different contexts including homes, offices,
and public spaces.
I received my PhD and MSc degrees from the University of California at Irvine, USA and the University of Essex, UK. I am affiliated to the Center for Research on Information Technology and Organizations (CRITO) and The Personal Computing Industry Center (PCIC) at the University of California, Irvine, USA.
