Symplectic Connections

Unlike the Riemannian case, there are many torsion-free connections for which a symplectic structure is parallel. Such connections form an affine space whose associated vector space is the space of symmetric 3-tensors and properties of a generic such connection are only weakly related to the the geometry of the underlying manifold. I shall look at means of selecting connections through their curvature properties.
