It is often desirable to mimick concepts from algebra in the world of stable homotopy theory. The modern technology of structured ring spectra allows to do this in many cases where it is possible to express the given algebraic construction in a "homotopy invariant" way. In my talk I will exemplify this for the problem of realizing Rees rings of regular ideals of the homotopy ring of a given strictly commutative ring spectrum. Such objects give rise to Higher Bockstein spectral sequences endowed with a multiplicative structure.
