Manchester Geometry Seminar 2005/2006

I have calculated the Morava K-theory rings of classifying spaces of p-groups with maximal cyclic subgroups of index p, in terms of Chern characteristic classes and the Honda formal group law. I will explain these concepts, and illustrate the conclusions in terms of one important example: the dihedral group.
