Finite Loop Spaces are Manifolds

A long outstanding conjecture says that every finite H-space is homotopy equivalent to smooth manifold. In the case of simply connected finite H-spaces this was proved by Browder. We will show one how to use the theory of p-compact groups and arithmetic square arguments to prove this conjecture for finite loop spaces.

This is joint work with T. Bauer, N. Kitchloo and E. Pedersen.
