You are bidding on a guitar amplifier built by Mr. Alexander Dumble just before he started designing his “Dumble” branded amps such as the Overdrive. The amp is 100% original and unmolested. The amp is being featured in an upcoming Tonequest article. Tonequest's publisher, David Wilson's comments: "Well, the short version is that it is similar in construction to a blackface Showman/Twin, with some different components and values, of course, and a bigger, deeper, more musically pleasing sound. Inherently cleaner than most Dumble fans might expect. It has a beautiful overdriven sound once you get past '8.' We were impressed. It's loud and proud!" It is one of a handful Mr. Dumble built for local Santa Cruz bands as he was developing his preamp and tone circuits. The amp is complete originality and its provenance is fully known. There is a lot of history that goes with it and most all of the characters involved are still around and able to testify as to the amps authenticity. The amp was built by Mr. Dumble for David Green, a guitarist who worked with him at his original Santa Cruz, California shop out on East Cliff Drive. Out of respect for Mr. Dumble, I have cropped photos of the circuit to discourage copycats! Please don't ask me for information that will help you copy the amp because I will not respond. Any other serious inquiries, please feel free to write and I will answer all questions completely. The amp uses a cabinet from a 1967 Fender Bandmaster and an earlier chassis (note the Fender Musical Instruments faceplate and the Fender Electric Instrument Co. backplate) but that's where any similarity ends. Many of the parts used to build amps at that time were scavenged 'cause Dumble was not yet DUMBLE! There are several tell tale elements that are very apparent if you know the early history of Dumble amps. Check out the A.D. stamp and the very cool formica tabletop material used for the board. The amp cranks out about 80 watts and functions perfectly- suitable for any of you big time recording artists, hardcore Dumble fanatics or serious collectors.
