Travel Directions

General travel directions and maps are at the university travel page

Our lab is in room D2, and Dudek's office is in D3, Sackville Street Building (formerly UMIST Main Building). On the city map, it is the turquoise coloured square between Granby Row and Withworth Street. On the campus map it is the building no.1. Only a short walk from the Picadilly train station. From the station, take the Fairfield Street Exit (first escalator down following sings for Metrolink, but then turn right and take another escalator down to exit). Cross the street in the direction of Bulls Head pub, and continue along Fairfield Street (or along Granby Row, which is parallel to Fairfield Street, at the back of the Bulls Head) for some 200 yards until you reach a massive brick building - this is the Sackville Street Building. Use the entrance on Granby Row. We are on D-Floor. From the lift turn right, and walk straight to the far end of the corridor, then turn right and walk almost to the end of the corridor again. D2 and D3 are on the left.

Days Hotel is a convenient (and moderately priced) place to stay. See this map for a walking route between the train station, hotel and the lab.

You can find us on Google Maps here

(By the way, don't try to put our mail postcode into your GPS/phone etc... it will take you not where you want to be!)

There is limited parking on Granby Row and Cobourg Street, and a multi-storey car park on Charles Street (M1 3BB)
