Make your own pages

There was a time when anyone could make nice web pages which looked just as good as anything else out there. Now there are many more things to learn, packages to use, and standards to try to keep to. However, if you just want to make simple pages to put information on, you can still get your web pages up with very little work. Start with these sites.

Webmonkey How to make fitter, happier web pages. I've linked into the beginners page, but they have lots of more hardcore stuff you can try once you've read this.
Webmonkey for kids How to make fitter, happier web pages if the link above was not easy enough for you.

Search Engines

I showed up on some of these when I last searched for my own name. The most famous Nicholas Stevens in the world appears to be an Aussie rules football player, so I've got some way to go to reach the top of the list.

Google The biggest by a mile. Some of the others actually use google's database too.
Yahoo UK The yahoo categories can be useful sometimes.
All the Web
Looksmart Another category based site.
Altavista Also has an mp3/audio search.
