Cell cycle checkpoints
DNA replication checkpoint
Entry into mitosis is blocked by incomplete DNA rep.
- A cell cannot pass on broken or incomplete sets of chromosomes
- Initiation of mitosis cannot occur until last nucleotide copied
- A negative signal is sent to control system, inhibiting M-Cdk
