S-Cdks
- DNA rep. begins at origins of replication
- Origin recognition complexes (ORC) bind
- Additional regulatory proteins bind to ORC
- Such as Cdc6
- Increases in G1
- Binds at ORC, allowing Mcm proteins to bind
- This resulting complex = Pre replicative complex (pre-RC)
- Once assembled, replication can begin
- Activation of S-Cdk in late G1 pulls trigger and initiates DNA rep.
- Also helps prevent replication by causing dissociation
