Burns: Treatment
Skin graft
- Skin removed using a dermatome
- Contains dermis and a portion of the epidermis (split thickness)
- If area of defect is very large, the skin is meshed to increase the surface coverage
- If defect involves a great loss of tissue, a full thickness graft is used
