Name: Karel Dorey Email: karel.dorey@manchester.ac.uk Karel studied at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris from 1992 to 2001 and obtained a degree in Biochemistry (1995); a masters in Biochemistry (1996); a DEA in Molecular and Cellular Developmental Biology (1997); and a PhD in Developmental Biology (2001). During this time, Karel worked in the laboratories of Danielle Dhouailly, Geneviève Almouzni, Bernard Maro and Giulio Superti-Furga. In 2002 Karel held a post-doctoral position in Caroline Hill's laboratory studying developmental signalling at the Cancer Research UK Institute in London. He joined the Amaya lab in 2005 as a research associate at the Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute and relocated to the University of Manchester with the lab in 2006. In 2007 Karel was awarded an RCUK Fellowship. The 5-year appointment started in October 2007. Karel studies the role of TGF-β signalling during wound healing and regeneration. He continues to work closely with the Amaya Lab.
