ALGEBRAIC STRUCTURES 1 (2008)
I've written some notes about common problems people had with the exam:
Solutions to coursework test 1
Solutions to coursework test 2
Mock exam paper (for practice)
Further exam papers available on the university website (last two years only - course was not run in its current form before that).
There were a number of cases where it was clear students cheated in the second test, mostly through collaboration with other students. You should neither copy other students' work nor allow your work to be copied. This is a serious matter, and those caught cheating in exams risk heavy penalties.
Marks followed with * indicate a high likelihood of cheating, but there was insufficient evidence to make any deduction of marks. I've marked these as a warning that they are risking potentially serious consequences by doing this.
Marks followed with ** indicate that evidence of cheating was overwhelming. These students have been deducted marks appropriate to each case. In future other lecturers may not be so lenient.
